  IAI.P001 - 6.8K OHM LIVE - PRESS RELEASE
  
  6.8K OHM is a project series by Dimitra Kousteridou using sound as a structural element of material composition in installations and paintings to create sound sculptures and live performances.
  
  Kousteridou uses handmade analog electronic circuits that enable real time sonification of paper canvas drawings. Graphite and conductive paint are the primary source of feedback for sonic interaction. By amplifying the signal, different frequencies are generated depending on the electrical conductivity produced.
  
  The drawings presented in the “Photo-P Edition” are based on the Aesthetics of Drawing from the 6.8KOhm audiovisual performances, and utilize acrylic and ceramic ink, time and light on photo sensitive paper. These drawings are published under IAI Records.
  
  Dimitra Kousteridou is a multidisciplinary artist based between Amsterdam and Athens. Her focus is on time-based, site-specific installations that manipulate noise and sound through the use of physical objects. The core of her interest lies in deconstructing the visual identity of subjects or objects and infusing them with new acoustic character, reinforcing the physical, aural and aesthetic qualities of their soundscape. She has performed and exhibited in the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Greece.
